General Data Protection Regulation
The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) entered into force on 25 May 2018. This harmonizes legislation on privacy in the EU. The Personal Data Protection Act (Wbp) is no longer in force.
Personal data we process
Van Lent Systems processes your personal data because you make use of our services and/or provide this data to us. The personal data we process is listed below:
- Forename and surname
- Gender
- Citizen Service Number
- Date of birth
- Place of birth
- Address
- Telephone number
- Email address
- IP address
- Bank account number
- Location information
- Data on your activities on our website
Purposes of the processing
Van Lent Systems B.V. processes your personal data for the following purposes:
- Replying to your questions and/or comments about our products
- Contacting you as necessary for the provision of our services
- Delivering goods and providing services to you
- Settling your payment
- Sending our newsletter and/or advertising folder
- Offering the opportunity to create an account
- Van Lent Systems B.V. also processes personal data when we have a statutory duty to do so, for example to obtain the information needed for our tax return.
Automated decision-making
Van Lent Systems B.V. does not make decisions based on automated processes on issues that could have (considerable) consequences for persons. This relates to decisions made by computer applications or systems without human intervention (such as a Van Lent Systems B.V. employee).
Retention period
Van Lent Systems B.V. does not retain your personal data for longer than is strictly necessary for the achievement of the purposes for which your data was collected, unless the law requires or allows a longer retention period.
Sharing personal data with third parties
Van Lent Systems B.V. does not sell your personal data to third parties, and furnishes data solely when necessary for the provision of the service to you as laid down in the service agreement or for the fulfilment of a statutory duty. We conclude a processing agreement with companies that process your data on our instructions so that your data is provided the same level of protection and confidentiality. Van Lent Systems B.V. remains responsible for this processing.
Cookies, or comparable techniques, that we use
Van Lent Systems B.V. uses functional, analytical and tracking cookies. A cookie is a small text file that is saved in the browser of your computer, tablet or smartphone when you first access our website. Van Lent Systems B.V. uses cookies with an exclusively technical functionality. These ensure that the website performs in the correct manner and that, for example, your preferences are stored. These cookies are also used to allow the website to work properly and to provide for optimization. We also place cookies that keep track of your surfing behaviour so that we can offer you customized content and advertisements. We informed you about these cookies on your visit to our website, when we also requested your permission to place them. You can deactivate the use of cookies by adjusting the settings of your Internet browser so that it no longer saves cookies. You can also adjust the settings of your browser to delete all previously-saved information. Google Analytics
This website uses Google Analytics, a web analysis service of Google Inc. (‘Google’). Google Analytics uses ‘cookies’, text files stored on your computer, to enable analysis of website usage by visitors. Information generated by the cookie about your use of the website (including your IP address) is transmitted to a Google server in the United States and stored there.
Google uses this information to record your use of the website, compile reports about the website activity for the website’s operator and offer further services related to website and Internet usage. Google may provide this information to third parties when Google has a statutory duty to do so, or in so far as these third parties process this information on behalf of Google.

Right to access, rectify, delete and data transfer
You have the right to access, rectify or delete your personal data. You also have the right, when you have given consent for the processing, to withdraw your consent, to lodge an objection against the manner in which Van Lent Systems B.V. processes your personal data, and you also have the right to data portability. This means that you can submit a request to us for the transmission of your personal data stored in our computer files to you, or to an organization specified by you. You can send a request for access to, or the rectification, deletion, or transfer of your personal data, request for the withdrawal of your consent, or objection to the processing of your personal data, to info@vanlentsystems.com. Please enclose a copy of your identity document with your request so that we can verify that the request was actually made by you. Blacken out your passport photo, the MRZ (machine readable zone, the strip with numbers at the bottom of the passport), passport number, and citizen service number on the copy: this is to protect your privacy. We shall reply to your request as soon as possible and in any case within four weeks. Van Lent Systems B.V. also wishes to draw your attention to the opportunity available to you to file a complaint with the national supervisory authority, the Dutch Data Protection Authority. How we protect personal data
As Van Lent Systems B.V. takes the protection of your data seriously we have implemented appropriate measures to prevent misuse, loss, unauthorised access, undesirable disclosure and unauthorized alteration. Should have the impression that your data is not properly secured or there are indications of misuse then contact our Customer Service department or send an email to info@vanlentsystems.com.
